Obituary of John Imbaratto

On December 31st 2021, John W Imbaratto Sr. of Laurinburg, NC was finally reunited with the love of his life, his wife of 50 years Ann Marie “Sue” Imbaratto. John passed away peacefully in Clearwater, FL surrounded by his family that loves and misses him dearly. John is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Imbaratto and parents Wilbert and Gina Imbaratto. John, 73 is survived by 2 children; Andrea Imbaratto Giraitis and her husband Noah Giraitis of Clearwater, FL and their son Tobias; John Imbaratto Jr and his wife Danielle of Lebanon, TN and their children Shataveon Bass, Chase Owens, Addison Owens, Haylee Imbaratto, Eystin Owens and Payton Imbaratto; sister Darlene Wiessmann and her husband Ross of Wantage,NJ; sister Gina Eskin and her husband James of Andover, NJ and sister in law Christine Riggins (Ken) of Lexington, SC. In addition to their two biological children, Sue and John had many friends that they considered their children as well, including Patrick Hunt and family of Laurinburg. John is a 1971 graduate of Kent State University and retired as a Plant Manager from Pfizer Poultry Health in 2012. After retirement, John and Sue became world travelers with their beloved friends Tom and Pam Grace. From Italy to Hawaii they traveled together sightseeing, laughing and enjoying their 2pm Moscow Mules. The quartet brought fun to wherever they landed next. They were also active in their church, St Mary’s Catholic Church in Laurinburg where John was the master of the Friday Lent Fish Frys. John was an antique “anything” collector; mostly cars, radios and tractors. He enjoyed working in his shop, cooking a pig for one of the famous Imbaratto Pig Pickin’s and spending time with his family. He loved his family unconditionally and was our go to person for the answer to just about any obscure question or problem we may have been encountering. John and Sue opened up their home to everyone and had many friends dating back from their school days. Their hospitality and love for all their family and friends they considered family will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society because without them we wouldn’t have had the last 15 years with Sue and John. .
