We never had the opportunity to meet John’s wife, Sue, but fortunately we did get to know John the last 6 months of his life when he lived with his daughter, Andrea, and her husband, our son, Noah. Parents leave a legacy through their children. John and Sue gave us the gift of an amazing daughter-in-law and mom of our first grandchild, Toby, and we will forever be grateful to them.

I met John thru work at a cancer institute, then I met my husband to be Mark at the same place. We got to know both of them thru work and outside of work. They became a very important part of our lives, Sue was my matron of honor and also made the cakes for our wedding, there are so many things in our lives that John and Sue made possible that there isn’t room to tell it all. The main thing I remember and learned from them is how to love your spouse and honor your marriage. We didn’t stay close after they moved but we would have moved the earth if we had known that’s what they needed. My heart will be forever sad over the loss of a couple that showed me what love really meant, but my soul will be forever joyous for God allowing me and my husband to know and be called their friend.
