Michelle, Morgan and Taylor, I know this a difficult time for you. Doug was truly one of kind and his passing leaves us all wishing it didn’t have to end so soon. He was a selfless and loyal friend – one of those type of friends that can never be replaced. We have shared so many good times since our childhood, and he leaves us with a lifetime of vivid memories that will continue to bring smiles to our faces and comfort during our grieving. He was very proud of all three of you and loved you very much; he often shared with me how Michelle was his perfect match, how smart Morgan was, along with a lot of bragging about Taylor and how much he adored you. Please stay in touch and do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything I can do to help out during this difficult time.

Doug my friend you left us way to soon, I know you had a lot of plans for you and Michelle I know more than anything you wanted to see your daughters grow up and start there life, I know Michelle probably got mad about us always talking for hours about hunting and fishing but I can honestly say I never had a conversation with him that he didn’t start it or end it without bragging about you and the girls. Doug might have loved to fish and hunt and football etc, but you and the girls have always been the center of his life and the thing he was most proud of, I’m glad we were friends Doug and I’m glad that we had the time we did to do the things we love and I’m glad you created a great family that you were so proud of with a woman that you loved respected and looked up to, and Taylor and Morgan who you were so proud of, I don’t think a man could ask much more out of life. So Rest In Peace my friend and one day we will see you again.

Michelle, Morgan and Taylor. We are so sorry for the loss you are experiencing. We think of you often and hope to see you in the near future. Your Doug was a funny and fun loving guy. I know you miss him a lot. He is keeping company with Grammy and aunt Alice and will be keeping watch over you. You now have several guardian angels looking out for you. Hopefully the hurt will get better in time. We have all of you in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and fill you with His love and peace. Our love to all of you, Linda and Larry Bassett

I love you and miss you everyday. I was not prepared for this to happen, we had so many things we wanted to do. Our life wasn’t perfect but we made the best of it and that’s what mattered. Thank you for making me the mother of 2 amazing girls so I don’t have to do this alone. You taught them that the outdoors aren’t so scary, fishing on the boat can be fun and steak is best eaten medium rare with something green on your plate. I know you loved all of us very much and we will forever cherish all the memories we had with you. You will be with us moving forward in making new ones too. I know you have moved on but you also haven’t forgotten about us your Mother and Aunt Alice gained and angel that day please watch over us… I love you

Well buddy to say I’m going to miss you is an understatement. I will miss all the conversations we had and the ones we will never get to have, all the reminiscing about hunting , fishing and the old days. You were like a brother to me for 40 years. Not a day will go by that I don’t think of you.
