Obituary of Millard L. Grumbling

Beloved husband, father, and friend, Millard L. “Grumpy” Grumbling, Jr., 73, of Oldsmar, FL, formerly of Rochester, PA passed away on August 28, 2018, in Palm Harbor, FL under the care of Suncoast Hospice with his wife of nearly 45 years, Linda, by his side. Born October 13, 1944 in Rochester, PA, he was the son of the late Millard Lorenzo Grumbling, Sr. and Olive Lulu (Gallagher) Grumbling. Millard attended Rochester Jr. Sr. High School and served in the United States Army from March 1962 to March 1965 as a Private-1st Class. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and spent the majority of his adult career with Hostess Cake, retiring in 2002 after 25 years with Hostess. He was a lifelong member of the American Turners in Rochester and served in many roles. Locally, he served on the Board of Directors for 37 years and also held the positions of Secretary and Golf Chair during his time on the board. He served on the American Turners District Council for 18 years and as District President for 14 years, he was also a member of the National Council for 10 years. Millard was instrumental in establishing the Rochester Turner’s Education Scholarship. He is also a member of the Owls Club in Rochester. He loved golfing, fishing, watching the Steelers, shooting pool, keeping up with news and politics and spending time with friends and family. Millard is survived by his wife, Linda (nee Mengel); their two children, Jennifer Grumbling of Palm Harbor, FL and Timothy Grumbling of Clearwater, FL; and two grandchildren, Milla Grumbling and Kaeden Delerme, along with numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Joan (Schmidt) Blostic in 2017 and Marilyn (Schmidt) Haack, August 24, 2018.
