Celebrating the life of Dr. Robert Lee Gunther

Born August 16, 1944 in Highland, Illinois

Passed away September 11, 2022 in Largo, Florida

Arriving in Florida in 1954, Bob was the quintessential Florida boy, attending Gulf Beach Elementary, Madeira Middle and Dixie Hollins High School. He attended the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois where he met Eileen. After graduation they married and he opened his medical practice in Belleair Bluffs in 1968. Throughout his life, Bob was a charismatic man and always made people feel happy and at ease. He wore many hats as a devoted husband and family man, a caring physician, loyal friend, and a leader for the Florida Chiropractic Association, Clearwater Yacht Club, Island Estates Yacht Club, and the Star Masonic Lodge. Bob loved golfing, boating, fishing and travel.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eileen Gunther; daughter and son in law Amy and Jay Titus; son Robert Gunther II (pre deceased) and daughter in law Kristine Gunther-Lensing; mother Dorothy Gunther and father Chauncey (pre deceased); sister Leanne Demmons; grandchildren Robert Gunther III, Ella Titus and Derek Gunther; great-grandchildren Blakely and Madden; and many loving extended family members.

We will all cherish and miss his quick wit, beaming smile and the many happy memories he created with us all.
