Obituary of Henry James Kalemba

Henry James Kalemba Jr. went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2022 at the age of 85.   Beloved husband of Janice (nee Haberman) for 64 years;  loving father of Patricia Ratajczak and Sandra Thomas (Jonathon); grandfather of Cheryl Hamilton (Stephen), Benjamin Thomas (Brittani Cool), and Jennifer Thomas ( Michael Schauer);  and great  grandfather of Jonan, Ava, Anneliese, Emma, Freddie, Riley, Zachary and Mason.  Henry was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Helen; brother Daniel (Elizabeth Joyce) and son in law Thomas Ratajczak.

Henry was born in Cleveland Ohio in 1937, graduated from Saint John Cantius High School in 1955.  In 1957 Henry enlisted  in the Army.  In 1960 he became  a  policeman for Seven Hills, Ohio.   In 1966 Henry was hired by Ohio Bell Telephone Company/Ameritech/SBC/AT&T and retired from AT&T after 25 years.  He was retired for  30 years and enjoyed traveling with Janice.  In 1991 they bought a house in Dunedin, Florida and became snowbirds.   He enjoyed volunteering for 20 years for the association they lived in.   He had a heart for the ederly and loved helping people.  He was hard working,  easy going, kind, generous, supporting and understanding.    For over 20 years, Henry donated blood to the American Red Cross and gave over 12 gallans of blood. He enjoyed time with his family, traveling, golfing and playing his accordian.    

There will be a memorial service on August 27, 2022 at Rockside Church, 4100 Rockside Rd.  Independence Ohio, located in the Indiana Wesleyan University Building.  Family will receive guests at 10:00.  Service is at 10:30.   

In lieu of  flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
