Obituary of Carole Dorothy Riggs

Carole D Riggs, 73 of Largo, FL died on Wednesday, June 22nd after a valiant battle with leukemia. Born in Greenock, PA on March 25, 1949 to the late Loretta and Robert Hosfelt. Carole graduated from McKeesport High School in 1967. She relocated from Pennsylvania to Florida with her husband and children in November of 1984. She was employed by Zayre department stores until 1989 when she began her career with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Carole worked as an Intake Specialist at the Pinellas County Jail for 21 years before she retired. She is preceded in death by her parents, Brother William Romanosky, Sisters Louise Phar, Roberta DeBone, Janet Kovac, and her infant son. Carole is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, James Riggs, Largo, FL , brother John Hosfelt, Elizabeth, PA , sisters in law Janet (Terry) Huston, Monongahela, PA, Pamela (Vince) DeGeorge, Wilmington, NC, and brothers in law Jay (Nikki) Riggs, East Stroudsburgh, PA, Mark (Sandra) Ames, Palm Bay, FL and Brad Ames, Cocoa, FL. Carole has 3 children, Angela Arnold, Largo, FL, Jamie (Gary) Smith, Largo, FL, and Christopher (Annette) Riggs, Spring Hill, FL. Seven Grandchildren, Rylee Arnold, Dalton Arnold, Brandon (Jennifer) McWilliams, Sarah (Clay) Haddock, Courtney (Matthew) Fabry, Brittany Riggs and Shelby Riggs. One Great Grandson, Charles McWilliams. She is also survived my many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 11am. The Point Church 1430 Belleair Rd, Clearwater, Fl. A private family ceremony and interment will be held at Bay Pines Cemetery on Monday July 11. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either her husband or to Hospice.
