Maggi Bender-Sisco

Obituary of Maggi Elizabeth Bender-Sisco

Maggi Elizabeth Bender-Sisco, age 51, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 29, 2023. She was born January 18th, 1972, in Philadelphia, PA.

Maggi is preceded in death by her father Norman D. Bender of Philadelphia, PA, and her paternal and maternal grandparents. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Cameron Gradillas) McGee of Tampa; granddaughter Lilyana Gradillas; mother Miriam E. (Dennis) Quinn of Pinellas Park; sister Katie (Ray) Davis of New Oxford, PA; nephews Thomas and Patrick Davis of New Oxford, PA; aunt Martha Jasper; and cousins Trisha, Amanda, Amber, Tyler, Lexi and Savannah.

Maggi was a graduate of Frankford High School in Philadelphia and continued her education at the Computer Learning Center, earning her associates degree and beginning a long career in Information Technology. Always a wanderer, Maggi enjoyed spending summers in Toms River, NJ and living in the Pocono Mountains, PA. She eventually found herself in Las Vegas, NV, where she met her ex-husband, David Sisco. After Las Vegas, Maggi moved to Florida where she realized her dream of living near the beach. She could often be found sitting with her feet in the sand enjoying the sights and sounds of the surf or scouring the shoreline for bits of the sea. Maggi was a true “Sea-Sheller” at heart and collected buckets of shells and shark teeth. Maggi loved children and they were equally delighted by her. Her beautiful smile and charming spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

Maggi had a fascination with weird and unusual trees, so if you would like to plant a tree in her honor, you can use the link below or order a tree for a National Forest, State Forest, or community garden website.

The family will hold a Celebration of Maggi’s Life and details will be shared at a later time.
