I only knew him as my brother's MS doctor. In 1998, Dr Dunne diagnosed my brother with MS at the age of 15 at USF Neurology. When he found out of his passing today, my brother said, "I feel like I lost someone who saved my life." Coming from a close-knit family, my brother's diagnosis became a family affair. Throughout the most difficult of times, Dr Dunne was there for our family, as a doctor and as a wonderful human being from a bygone generation- the kind of which no longer exists. He genuinely cared for and loved his patients and went above and beyond for them. Not only he was an extraordinary physician with accomplishments most people can only dream of, he was also cultured and well-rounded. He could recite a Persian poem by Hafez better than most of us Iranians can. He was one of a kind; As the saying goes, "they don't make 'em like that anymore." This is a profound loss and our family is devastated by this news; It feels like our world just got a lot darker, lonelier and "less good".
Dr Dunne, I hope you knew you made this world a better place and left an imprint on many people's lives. Like a walking angel, you were here on a mission to help so many people, including children like my brother. Your legacy will live on for generations to come. Rest In Peace.
My deepest condolences go out to the Dunne Family. Please, know we are grieving with you.
With love and sadness,
Sepi

Peter was an exceptional person. He leaves a legacy to wide and deep for mere words. My condolences go out to his wife Faith, who has been a longtime friend and colleague of mine.

Doctor Dunne was a wonderful mentor and friend. From 1972 to 1975 at USF Med he guided me to my
board certification in Internal Medicine and supported the creation of the first allergy fellowship program
at USF. Now 44 years later of Allergy/Immunology practice I will never forget his exceptional teaching ability and kindness. God bless Dr Dunne and his family. J. Wayne Phillips MD
