Obituary of Jill Bennett Howard

Jill Bennett Howard 74, of Ozona, Florida passed away Monday, June 5th of Pulmonary Fibrosis at Empath Health Hospice Center in Palm Harbor, Florida. She was born on October 7th, 1948 in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

Jill was raised in many different states as a child as well as England due to her father’s military career. After graduating from Crossland High School in 1966 she went on to study at University of Maryland College Park. In 1968, Jill married Ken Howard. Jill and Ken have two children, Tracey and Amanda.

Jill worked as a graphic artist at ANADAC in Virginia in the 1980s. In 2000, Jill moved to Ozona, Florida where she owned and operated the Speckled Trout Marina.

Jill was loved by many friends and family members and she will be missed. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor; always witty and clever. She had a whimsical artistic talent that was evident in everything she created.

Jill was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dolores Bennett; her brothers: Tyler, Jack Jr. and Rob; and former partner Ron Spicuzzo.

Jill is survived by her brother, Rick Bennett (Denna); daughters Tracey Short (Mike) and Amanda Curry (Scott); her grandchildren Samantha Short, Spencer Short and Caroline Curry.

Jill’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 24th 12:00 noon at the Dunedin United Methodist Church Friendship Hall. The hall is located next to the church at 415 Wood Street Dunedin, FL 34698.
