George Parmigiani

Obituary of George Joseph Parmigiani

George Joseph Parmigiani, 83,  of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away March 30, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

“To Make A Long Story Short”… George was born and raised in Grant City, on Staten Island, New York, to Joseph and Rose Parmigiani. Brother to John. He graduated St. Peter’s Boys High School in the Class of ‘57 and then attended St. John’s University. George also served as a Coast Guardsman.

George spent his career as an Ornamental Iron Worker in NYC with Local 580 for over 45 years. Over his career he worked on projects at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, The Statute of Liberty and The World Trade Center.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing and following the NY Yankees and Giants. George also loved to travel, and food brought him tremendous joy!!!

George was loved during life and will be through eternity, by his wife of 63 years, Valerie. Together they added daughters Tina, Donna, Lisa and Lori to their love story. George was an active parishioner at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Dongan Hills on Staten Island for over 43 years and continued in his faith at Blessed Trinity in St. Petersburg, Florida for 20 years. His Love, Faith and Loyalty to God grew stronger every day. He was so much more than he ever gave himself credit for.

George may have spoken to many with directness, assertiveness, and stubbornness… but it always came from a place of love, compassion, concern, and experience.

His legacy of love, faith, success and loyalty will be carried on not only through his wife of 63 years and his daughters, but also through his beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas, Peter Joseph, Jessica, Andrew, Lindsay, Doria and Gianna. Poppy could not have been more thankful to have been given all of these years to share in their life journeys.

His son-in-laws, Pete, Paul Robert, Doug and Rob, were never in-laws, but loved as if they were his own sons. The dynamic of each relationship may have been different, but his love for all of them was the same.

To the family and friends he leaves behind: the silence will be a reminder of how much we will miss his stories of his life, his very strong opinions, and his love for his family.
