Celebrating the life of Eileen Isabelle Gunther

Born February 8, 1946

Oak Park, Illinois

Passed away January 28, 2023

Largo, Florida

Eileen was a loving woman that always put family first and was a creative, compassionate helper to all! She grew up in Lombard, Illinois and graduated from Glenbard East High School. She then went to school to become a Master Cosmetologist. In Lombard, Eileen met her love Bob who was attending medical school and they married the day after his graduation in 1967. Change was in the air in 1968 when they started their family, moved to Florida, and opened a Chiropractic practice all within three months! Eileen was a devoted wife, mother, and “Grammy”. While tending to her family, Eileen also eventually trained to become a Chiropractic Assistant and was office manager for Bob’s practice. She even held the honor of being voted Chiropractic Wife of the Year for the Florida Chiropractic Association. She was very active in her community. She served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for nearly a decade in Seminole. She was also a leader and active member of the Clearwater Yacht Club and Island Estates Yacht Club. In her spare time Eileen loved sewing, gardening, boating and travel, especially on fun trips with her sister Kay and their “Bob’s”.

Eileen is survived by her sister Kay and brother-in-law Robert Herigodt; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Jay Titus; son (predeceased) Robert and daughter-in-law Kristine Gunther-Lensing; grandchildren Robert Gunther III, Ella Isabelle Titus, and Derek Gunther; great grandchildren Blakely and Madden; and many loving nieces, nephews, godchildren and extended family.

We will all miss Eileen dearly in the many ways she touched our lives. She was always at her very best with her “sweetie” Bob and we can all be happy they are reunited again.

In lieu of flowers, Eileen would appreciate a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society. Eileen was a fortunate ovarian cancer survivor but always hoped for a cure for the disease that effected so many of her friends and family.
