Obituary of Claire Granger

Claire Granger, age 87, of Tampa, FL passed away March 1, 2021 after a brief stay in hospice. She was born in Birmingham AL to James and Virginia Miller. She worked for Holland & Knight Law Firm for 23 years, retiring as a paralegal assistant in 2009. She made lifelong friends while working there, was their unofficial restaurant critic, always having a drawer full of menus and the go-to person for suggestions on great places to dine. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She loved going out to eat with her husband, family and friends. She had a great sense of humor, loved playing cards and games with her family and was a lover of music. She also had enjoyed camping and fishing. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Milledge Granger, her two daughters Virginia Payne and Suzy Elliott, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sue Miller, grandsons Raul and Alex Castillo, and step-sons, Charles and Peter Granger and their families. She was preceded in death by her brother James Miller. Our family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Melech Hospice House for their unending kindness and allowing us to be there day and night in her final days. In remembrance of Claire’s life, a charitable donation can be made to Melech Hospice House. Mail a check payable to Chapters Health Foundation to: 3010 W. Azeele Street, Suite 120, Tampa, FL 33609
