Obituary of Joseph Paul Borruso

In Loving Memory

Our beloved Joseph Paul Borruso, son, father, brother, has passed away on June 6th, 2022, at the age of 57 in St. Petersburg, Florida. After a strong and courageous fight through many life and health battles, Joe is now free and able to rest peacefully. Despite the pain, Joe remained strong and true to himself, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him for the loving, caring person that he was. Joe was born on July 26, 1964, in Utica NY, the son of Joseph J. and Domenica (DiRoberto) Borruso. Joe graduated from Oriskany High School class of 1983. He worked as a district area manager in Upstate New York for most of his career. In 2006, Joe moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where he worked as an independent contractor. Joe, also known as “Big Joe,” was a personable, deeply loved man, who loved his family and friends, a man with a heart the size of any room he walked into. Our family and friends will remember him for his loving spirit, his comedic ways, and how he always held an open heart for others, no matter what. Joe also loved fishing, camping, being with nature and by the water. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph C. and Theresa (Mannino) Borruso, and his grandmother Antoinette (Marino) DiRoberto. He is survived by his parents, his three children, Joseph P. Borruso II, Alexandria Borruso, her Fiancé Jesse Vetrone, and Dominick Borruso. His previous wife Kimberly (Pease) Reischl, sister MaryAnn Lassell, her husband William Lassell, his nieces Marissa and Nicole Lassell, friend and previous wife Jocelyne Pierre-Borruso.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 3rd, 2022, at the Living Waters Church, 761 River Hwy, Mooresville, North Carolina, 28117. The church, led by Pastor Roy Young, welcomes our family, as it remains a special place in our hearts. A place where Joe found community and where, we as a family, learned to foster our resilience to have faith and stay strong.
