Obituary of Mary Christina McManus

 

Mary C. "Tina" McManus, age 60, passed away suddenly in her home in Largo, FL on May 10, 2022.

She was born September 19, 1961 in Springfield, MO to the late Richard L. and Eleanor A. (Schneider) Boegner.

After attending Glendale High School, she received her bachelor of arts in Business Administration and Spanish from Drury University In Springfield in 1983. While at Drury, she met some of her closest friends through Zeta Tau Alpha, and her lifelong love of travel started with her time studying abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Tina received her MBA from American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix before moving on to obtain her CPA.

She went to work in Dallas, TX for FastTax/CRL and DART before returning to Missouri to work for Springfield Public Schools, Burrell, and Missouri State University where she retired as Controller.

As a breast cancer survivor, she built especially strong connections with her Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks sisters. She will be best remembered by her friends and community for her involvement with charitable organizations including BCFO, Unity Church of Springfield, Zeta Alumni, the Girl Scouts, PTA, the AGA, and many others.

In 2019, she moved to Florida to spend her retirement years in the sun.

Tina is survived by her two sons, Isaac McManus with his partner Maxwell Petrus of Kansas City, MO, and Ian McManus with his wife Natalie of Arnold, MO, a brother Philip Boegner of Glen Allen, VA, niece Sarah Boegner with her fiancé Eric Fiedorek of Arlington VA, nephew Matthew Boegner with Carianne Lee of Washington DC, a sister Bonnie Thomas with her husband Robin of Fair Grove, MO, nephews Bryant Thomas with his wife Kelly, and Spencer Thomas with KC Yang of Springfield, MO. 

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks or your charity of choice.

 

She is at peace and will be missed.
