I remember when me, Will, and Patrick went to Florida for the first time,I believe it was 2004 or 2005, well we had the best unforgettable memories with Grandma and grandpa, shooting lizards with rubber band guns, going out to eat everyday, having enough pop every night, watching our favorite tv series, one was South Park, grandpa loved South Park, we went to Buschgardens, Kennedy Space Station, and so many other wonderful places, I hope we can have those adventures again in heaven grandpa, I miss ur goofy personality, ur genuine kindness brought smiles to so many people myself included, I miss ya grandpa can’t wait to see ya on the other side

I remember going to visit Grandpa John down in Florida as being a legendary experience. He was always lighthearted and warm to talk to. He was passionate about many things, including his faith and politics. Grandpa shared his thoughts and he educated me on many things. The particular memory that I always smile when I recall is when he took me and my brothers to mass at his Catholic Church. I was a young adolescent at the time and he told me that the best way to get a Catholic girl to notice you is by humming at her really loudly! It’s memories like this, and many more that I miss, but will hold dearly for all my life.

I have many fond memories of my father. He was truly a gentle soul who
Loved his family. As a young child, I would cuddle next to him as often as I could. He taught me to swim, ride a bike, roast marshmallows, tell stories, and many other things. Whenever we went camping, he would put us to sleep with incredible ghost stories. I can still hear his slow, warm voice say: “It was a dark, stormy night…”
Dad made everything seem OK even if things didn’t turn out like we hoped. I recall us grumbling about the rain during a camping trip. It was miserable until Dad pulled the picnic table into the tent and got out games. I remember an ice storm that knocked out power for days. We were cold and miserable until Dad refashioned it into a week long PJ party. We all crowded together in front of the fireplace. Dad loved to learn and experience new things. We traveled to most of the States. He proudly announced trying all 31 flavors of Baskin and Robbins ice cream. He taught himself to play Chess, Bridge, Computers, Sudoku etc. He repaired TV’s and other electronics. He would often study.
Most of all, Dad taught me about unconditional love. I knew he loved no matter what. I felt grounded by his dedication and patience. He was always there in a pinch. No doubt Dad’s death is a tremendous loss, but it is also a time to shout out that my dad was great and I’m honored to be his child. My promise to Dad is to be as playful, kind, loyal, and available as he was. Don’t worry Dad, your kids got this.
With love and faith,
Carol
