Obituary of Richard Russell Cormier Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce Richard R. Cormier, Jr 57, of Clearwater, Florida gained his wings on April 9, 2022 with his children and wife by his side.  Richard was born on November 3, 1964 in Brockton, Massachusetts.  He is predeceased by his Father Richard R. Cormier, Sr; Maternal and Paternal Grandparents. 

Survivors include his Mother, Audrey Cormier; three children, Tiffany Funes (Edgar) of Manassas, VA, Donovan Cormier of Nokesville, VA and Chase Cormier of Clearwater, Florida; two sisters, Kimberly Ward of Boca Raton, Florida, Brenda Poteet of North Carolina; two brothers, Thomas Ward of North Carolina and Charles Cormier of New Hampshire; five grandchildren, Mikaylee, Kamryn, Braidyn, Anthony, Damian and one great grandchild Nathan.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Rick.  Rick was a Service Tech for pressure washers and water reclaim systems.  He was one of very few techs that could service the System Ones and known for his hard work and loyalty.  Rick enjoyed racing, cooking, spending time with his family and watching General Hospital.  Rick was an avid race car driver in his younger years and enjoyed taking his children to the racetrack to watch him race.  He also enjoyed shooting air guns with his son Chase and watching the sunset.

One of Rick’s biggest accomplishments was being a Father.  He always taught us to stand tall, be proud and know ourselves in all situations.  As our Father, he supported us all throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties of our lives.  A Father like Rick is rare and one that everyone needs.  We will remember Rick being full of love, smiles, and laughter.  You worked so hard for us, and we will never take that for granted.  The love in our Daddy’s hands will forever be cherished.  Nothing can replace a Father like you, but when you get to Heaven, God will be lucky to have you too.

The family will be holding a private memorial in honor of our beloved son, father and grandfather.  Richard’s final resting place will be next to his Father, so he may continue to Rest in Peace.
