Carla Jeanne Lawrence

 

69, of Naples FL, passed away on January 15, 2022 at the Masonic Home of Florida in St. Petersburg due to complications from ALS. She was preceded in death by her partner Merle Lawrence of Naples, FL on Nov. 27, 2021.

 

Carla is survived by her son Ryan Bremner and granddaughter Téa Bremner of St. Petersburg and brothers Mike and Rick Burdette of Peoria, IL. She was born Sept. 13, 1952 to George and Phyllis Burdette in Peoria where she grew up and attended Peoria Central High School until moving to Naples in 1991. 

 

After many years working in public education with special needs children, Carla went back to school to become a physical therapy assistant. She worked tirelessly with patients at ManorCare Lely Palms even after her diagnosis.

 

Carla was known for her boundless energy, kindness, compassion and impeccable style. She faced her disease with amazing courage and her friends and family are thankful she’s finally at peace. 

 

The family will be holding private oceanside memorial to honor their beloved mother and grandmother and suggest a contribution to the Florida ALS Chapter in her memory.
