Obituary of Rosemary Alonso

Rosemary Alonso, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, nurse & caregiver, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, in Clearwater, Florida, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her loving family who will forever mourn her loss.

 

Rosemary was born to Anthony and Josephine Mascia in Parkers Landing, PA on December 23, 1944. She was the youngest of three children and grew up in a loving and close-knit family. As a registered nurse, Rosemary touched many lives through her tireless dedication to caring for others. After many years of working in hospitals, she moved on to work as a School Nurse at Saint Joseph School located in Carteret, NJ, where she made a significant impact on the lives of the students and faculty alike.

 

Beyond her professional work, Rosemary was well-known for her kindness and empathy, always finding time to help others in need. Through youth groups and retreats, she volunteered her time to help the parish youth of St. Joe's, she was like a second mother to many who selflessly opened her home and her heart to many who just needed a place to go, or a person to talk to.

 

Rosemary was loved and cherished by so many people. She is survived by her husband George Alonso; her son George Alonso II, her daughter-in-law Nicole Alonso; her three grandchildren, George Alonso III, Madison, and Abigail, her sister Dolores Audino-Ricci, and her many nieces and nephews; Joseph and Chrys Audino, Manny and Dawn Beltran, Michael and Renee Bosze, Ernie and Vivian Cleworth, Tom and Karen Evans, Joseph, and Maryanne Mascia, Bryant and Amanda Morin, She is pre-deceased by her parents Anthony and Josephine Mascia, her brother Joseph Mascia Sr., her sister-in-law Joanne Morin, and her niece Nancy Blue.

Those who knew Rosemary best will remember her loving heart and kindness. She was a guiding light in the lives of all who knew her.
