Obituary of John Scott Crook

John Scott Crook, 58, died suddenly Feb 10, 2023 at home in Clearwater, FL.

 

John was born March 28, 1964 in Melrose Park, Illinois, the son of Sidney and Lois (Melton) Crook.  He moved with the family to Clearwater in 1970 and had lived in Pinellas County since. 

 

John enjoyed cooking, music, and Star Wars. He spent much of his time playing video games and reading books. He owned most (if not all) of Stephen King’s books, and was very proud of this collection.

 

John is survived by his mother, Lois Ann Crook and his daughter, Kaci Ann Crook.

 

Also surviving are his five siblings: Tracey (Crook) Harrison; Jeffrey Crook; Katherine (Crook) Bolen; Karen Crook; and Charles Crook; two step-siblings Laurianna (Kerry) Gilbert Pierce and Alan B. Gilbert; niece Kimberly Boothe; and nephew Jim (Deidre) Harrison.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, and an infant brother, Douglas.

 

A celebration of life service will be held at Walsingham Park, (12615 102nd Ave, Seminole, FL), Shelter #1, on Saturday, March 25^th 2023 at 11am, and all are welcome to attend.

 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Cypress Wellness Center’s “Dear Self, You Are Worth It” program via Venmo (@CypressWellnessCenter). All proceeds collected will be used to pay for mental health therapy services for persons who could not otherwise afford them.
