I'm in tears just now finding out. You shaped my wellbeing and future. The world is incomplete without you, knowing that I will always be sad of your absence. I, as always, will keep you and your teachings close to my heart. God bless

Dr. Boo,
You were not only my first college professor, but the academic advisor that kept me going on to my masters. Also the man that I continually ran in to in all sorts of random places. It was good seeing you a few years ago at sunset beach and then again near Palm Harbor. I appreciate your honesty, silliness, and the motivation you started our friendship with and the kind words you gave on your birthday (2021). I am not sure how I missed it this year. My family is well aware of the guidance you provided me and I know you provided so many others. Thank you!
My condolence to the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family! I was so sad to read this news this morning. Dr. Boo was my favorite professor of all time and he taught and loved beyond the classroom. What a true light of Jesus to all he encountered and a joyful spirit that encouraged so many. He poured into me and pushed me to be better — he made learning fun! My hope is that you know how far his reach is and that he is so loved! He will always be fondly remembered as a true disciple of Jesus Christ! May God surround you all and give you peace that surpasses all understanding.

Dr. Boo
Words will never express the professor you were to me, the life you molded. I work in psych, continuingly helping others because of you. You were there in the darkest of times in my life. Even commenting and honoring me on social media. Offering to write references! Always there not as professor, but as a friend. You spoke highly about your wife always and how much she has helped many athletes. I remember so many different times but this would be a very long paragraph. To the family my condolences we lost a great one! The hardest part is we just spoke recently and I know this pandemic has been rough for all of us, planned on getting together even.

Words can't adequately describe how much I deeply respected and loved Dr. Boo. My time with him at Saint Leo was the best of the best of my college experiences. Before, during and after graduation, his mentorship and friendship helped me bloom. I adored his humor, stories and prolific faith. I look forward to meeting again.

Condolences to the family! I’ve prayed for Kevin at Dave’s request these past few years. One time in chapel at MCC he said something to the effect of “while you’re waiting to discover God’s big plan for your life, do what you know God wants”. Profound in its simplicity this has stayed with me for 35+ years. Ginger Nims

This so deeply saddens me. Hugs and prayers go out to Kitty, his sons and family! He was the sweetest, silliest, most helpful instructor that I had. We spoke way after I graduated in 2016 & I feel like I know the family from his stories. Please know he loved each of you and thanks Kitty for giving him another chance.

Dr. Skaer is one of my most favorite people in the world. I am one of those students, colleagues, friends, and sister of the faith who dearly loves him. I would not be where I am today without his mentorship, friendship, and instruction. I know he is 'sitting on his wrap around porch before the LORD plucking away at his banjo and other instruments'. I will surely miss him on this side of eternity and so look forward to seeing him when it is time for me to go home. Thank you to Dave's precious Kitty (Kirsten). His love for you gives me hope for humanity and the great gulf that has appeared to separate and divide family units throughout the world over the decades. The love he has for you Kitty is inexpressible. I do not remember a day when he would come to class or the office when he did not brag on you and describe how much he loves you. It is a wonderful expression of the tangible love God has for all humanity. I am blessed to know you both. He equally expressed his love for his Sons and other family members. Know his love for you all is forever.
Respectfully,
Sasha Bergstrasser
