Obituary of Scot DeFlaun

Raymond “Scot” DeFlaun, of Clearwater, Florida. Beloved husband of Kimberly Engel DeFlaun.

Scot was born April 16,1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to Rosalie Oley and Robert DeFlaun. Scot was raised in Shaker Heights and was active in sports while excelling at academics. He was a graduate of West Geauga High School and Kent State University and later received his MBA at Cleveland State University.He worked his way through college by bartending and serving at Rick’s Café in Chagrin Falls.

In his 30 years with PNC Bank, he made significant contributions to the organization. He was a trusted teammate and mentor who built strong partnerships with all.

Scot lived in Euclid, near the shores of Lake Erie and most recently moved to Clearwater, Florida where he delightedin glorious sunsets that nature offered. Scot enjoyed playing basketball with friends in the early morning hours at Cleveland State. He also made many friends while playing tennis at Countryside and Eastlake Country Clubs. As an avid reader and writer, he enjoyed intense and lively conversations with friends. He had the keen ability to listen with understanding and offer words of encouragement without judgement.He will be remembered for his warm and loving heart, his joyous laughter and kindness.

Scot was preceded in death by; his mother, Lee in 2016; his father, Robert in 2002. He leaves behind many beloved family and friends.
