Obituary of Barbara Lee Wingard

Barbara Lee Wingard died peacefully January 10, 2022 in Tampa, FL at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph C. and Edwina Jane Klinger and her beloved husband of 65 years, John C Wingard, Jr. Her great grandson Hunter D Morin as well as her sister and brother in law Lois and Frank Nave, her niece Suzy Billingham and nephew-in-law Richie Billingham and great-nephew Patrick Nave. Barbara was born on September 5, 1934 in Fairmont, West Virginia. She married John Clifford Wingard, Jr., her high school sweetheart in 1952. The family moved to Florida in 1958. Over the years, the couple welcomed four children. John and Barbara set about teaching them all they knew about love and life. Barbara’s children will remember her as a kind, gentle and patient mother who did her best to encourage the pursuit of their dreams and aspirations. Barbara had many roles throughout her life. Her most important role was as a homemaker and devoted mother to her four children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was a generous individual who loved her husband and who was passionate about caring for her family and friends. She was an active and devoted member of the Church of Christ. Barbara Is survived by her beloved children and has left a legacy of loving and dedicated family members: 4 Children – Sherri L Morin (Mike), Debi J Lanier (Lance), Wayne K Wingard (Carol), and Tami J Wingard 9 Grandchildren – Marcus N Morin (Amy), Jenifer L Thompson (Grant), Matthew R Woodward (Michelle), Cynthia A Woodward, Melissa A Spencer (Danny), John-Michael Morin (Amanda), Sheryl M Hudspeth (Casey), Wesley D Morin (Taylor), and Jakeb A Thacker (Cortney) 17 Great Grandchildren – Jade C Anderson (Josh), Sean R Woodward (Taylor), Cameron M Woodward, Haven A Crisp, Emma L Thompson, Elexa A Crisp, Delani J Crisp, Gracie M Morin, Lili G Thompson, Justin P Woodward, Lee J Woodward, Emily L Morin, Hannah R Morin, Elijah C Lentsch, Wyatt D Spencer, Ella A Spencer 3 Great Great Grandchildren – Bentley J Anderson, Kylie A Anderson, Parker M Woodward Barbara is also survived by her nephews Tom (Joni), Jim (Marilyn), and John (Nikki) and their children. A Celebration of Life will be held at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Funeral Home, 12690 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace, Fl. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 1:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara’s life.
