Obituary of Alan Robert Dostal

Alan Robert Dostal went home to be with the Lord on October 12, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Yonkers, N Y on November 11, 1943 and grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson. He was a journeyman lineman for many years and a member of the IBEW. He moved with his family to Tampa in 1977 and in 1983 he established Tampa Solar Contracting. Alan sang in the St. John’s Episcopal Church Choir of Men and Boys for over 20 years and was also a member of The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. He was a classic car and antique motorcycle enthusiast, as well as a loyal Rays fan. He was a member of Christ Central Presbyterian Church. Alan touched many lives with his strong business integrity, sharp wit and charisma. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Judith Tietjen Dostal, two sons, Russell and wife Kimberly, and Kyle and wife Lauren, three grandsons, and half sisters Margaret Dutcher and Laura Hendrickson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Central Presbyterian Church or Suncoast Hospice of Palm Harbor.
