David Silveira, age 57, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on April 24, 2023. Born on February 16, 1966, in Pittsfield, MA, he resided in Berkshire County until retiring to St. Petersburg, Floria in 2014.
David graduated from West Virginia University with a business management degree in 1986. While there, he enjoyed being a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He held three positions in retail management for the next decade before starting a new career with Pittsfield Public Schools in 1997, first as a tutor and later as a special education teacher. He earned his graduate degree in education from Cambridge College in 2001.
David enjoyed his summer vacations at the beach in Wilmington and Oak Island, NC, where he found the people and community to be the most genuine of anywhere he resided. He renovated and sold numerous homes in Berkshire County, which helped him afford an early retirement in Florida, for which he was very grateful. His hobbies over the years included bicycling, tropical gardening, racquetball, bodysurfing, and following current affairs (NOT Fox News).
David was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Joseph Silveira in 2011, and his beloved dog Kobe in 2021.
He is survived by his two best friends, Michael Connors of St. Petersburg, FL, and Zachary Smith of Raleigh, NC; three sisters in North Carolina (Beverly, Mary, and Marilyn); and three brothers in Massachusetts (Manny, John, and Paul). He also leaves two canine companions, Fred and Ethel.
David will be remembered for his dry humor, kindness, and loyalty. Please consider a donation to Suncoast Hospice or the American Cancer Society in remembrance of David.
